Knapton Parish Council Secures Grant to Restore Village Pond and Support Wildlife

Knapton Parish Council is pleased to announce that it has successfully secured a grant to carry out important restoration work on the village pond. The funding will allow the council to clear accumulated debris and overgrowth from the pond, helping to improve water quality and restore the habitat for local wildlife.

Over time, natural build-up of silt, vegetation, and fallen material can reduce the ecological health of ponds. By carefully clearing the pond, the project aims to create a healthier environment where a wider range of plants and animals can thrive.

Once the work is completed, the pond is expected to become a more welcoming habitat for species such as frogs, newts, dragonflies, and aquatic plants. Improved water flow and increased open water areas will also make the pond a more attractive and sustainable ecosystem for wildlife in the area.

The Parish Council hopes that this project will not only enhance biodiversity but also preserve an important natural feature of the village for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Knapton Parish Council would like to thank the grant provider for supporting this initiative and helping the community take positive steps toward protecting and improving the local environment.

Further updates will be shared with residents as the project progresses.
